Anthems From The Alleyway – 38/365
Tonight I had a couple of shots in mind i wanted to get, but upon arrival at the place, a park, it was closed! I was stumped for where to go, and my idea for the evening shattered.
I wandered around the river for an hour or so trying to find some interesting shots when i came across this creepy alleyway just behind Temple Tube Station. I walked up it, seems to be the back of a school or college, with a church off to one side. This shot was taken from the road side though on my way back out.
I’ve been getting some weird glare with my lenses at night recently, might have to invest in a couple of hoods I think..
Humph.
Market Men – 37/365
I’ve gone for something a little different with my choice tonight. I’m not really one for taking pictures of people when I’m out and about, unless I know them. But, I’m going to try and be more sneaky from now on, and see what I can come up with.
This is a little bit of a rough start, I only managed to get 4 shots before my battery died, but wanted to use this one for today to start the new idea off.
Taken near Victoria Station. I’ll go back one evening as they’re always there and try to get some better ones.
Take The Stairs – 36/365
Taken at the IMAX on the Southbank, London.
Went to see Alice in Wonderland, it was, AWESOME!

Here’s Looking At You, Calf – 35/365
I’ve cheated today.
I didn’t go out with my camera, and can’t find anything else inspiring around me either
So, have decided not to just skip a day, but to put up an old picture I took at London Zoo instead.
I’ve still got a ton of photo’s I’ve not put on Flickr, majority of them i don’t deem worthy enough as I’m only trying to put up the picture’s I’m happy with now. But there’s still a bunch of good ones in there too.

This Whale, Failed. – 34/365
Today as my girlfriend was having a tidy up, she found this whale money box I bought her last year. I thought it might make a nice picture for today and I went about trying to think up a fun idea.
This was a long exposure set up with a blue jumper as a backdrop and a kitchen chopping board as the floor. I took about 50 shots trying to get one that i was happy with, in some the tourch i was using to make the ‘waves’ was showing up as a reflection to much in the whale itself, you can still see it in this one, but it’s not as strong as some of the others. Need to find a way to stop it being such a direct light, for free..
Touched up slightly in Aperture afterwards, lightening the whale a bit and adding a vignette.

This week was British Pie Week, so it only seemed right to go for a pie at least once this week, right?
I went with some of the Labs team from work this afternoon, it onlly took a couple of chants of ‘pie’ to get me to cave and join in.
It was a damn good pie as well, i’d say it was probably the best pie i’ve EVER had as well, bold statement, but i’m willing to take that chance.

Mostly unmodified shot, just a slight vignette added.
There’s Something I’m Forgetting.. – 32/365
Taken looking up towards Picadilly Circus this evening.
I took a walk around St James’ Park after work, didn;’t really get any shots i was happy with though. I was trying to make my way back towards the tube station but ended up out the other end of the park, so just walked up to Piccadilly and got the tube from there instead.
Swaying In The Breeze – 31/365
Tonight I had a photo buddy come along with me! Thanks Russ
We took a walk along part of the South Bank to City Hall, as it was on my list of places to go and try to get some shots.
It was a freezing night, really breezy, didn’t make for nice photo time.
I’m not really happy with the way most of my shots came out from tonight either, grrrr.
I’ve put a couple of others up on my stream, but i’m choosing this one for the project. Not quite sure why, I took one of City Hall in focus, and one of the hand rail on the stairs, and for some reason I just prefer this one.

Concrete Information – 30/365
In an earlier picture in this project i said i was going to go back to Westminster and try to capture a couple of shots of the architecture there. I went all the way down as low as I could, to the Jubilee line, and took a look around the large walkway down there trying to get some good angles. Shame I don’t have an even wider angle lens really, 18mm still doesn’t fit in as much as there is down there.
It’s an impressive station though, the huge structural supports carry the load of Portcullis House above, and it’s all pretty space age looking.

XOXO – 29/365
Today was Marmite Monday.
Marmite released their new flavour, XO, which stands for Extra Old.
It’s matured with a strong taste, I cant wait to get it on some toast, or in a nice pasta.
I stuck a finger in it already, and its lovely ![]()
